After my adventures in Saskatoon, I headed to Winnipeg in search of more cider experiences. In my pre-trip research I had a hard time finding anything cider-related to do in Winnipeg. Once in the city, I stumbled upon a few great experiences! The first was visiting the Public Orchard at the Forks.
I have visited the Forks a few times in my trips to Winnipeg but had never seen this orchard!! My friend Ryan (an Edmonton transplant, now living in Winnipeg) and I hopped on our bikes and headed over.
The orchard was created in 2014 by Winnipeg CORE (Community Orchards for Resources and Education). A group of chokecherry trees stood in the location but because they were diseased they had to be removed.
